Stepe to complete to prepare for today’s class

Doing the following before we get started will make today’s very busy class time a bit less hectic.

1. Download week3.zip file from at /classes/tableau_oct24.html
2. Make a folder week3 in your class folder
3. After extracting the files from the ZIP file, drag them to the week3 folder
4. Open up Tableau Desktop
5. Connect to a File -> More... -> Tableau Data Extract -> student_activity_output.hyper
6. Click Open
7. Change Name (middle-bottom/left) from Extract to StudentActivity
8. Click on Sheet 1 at bottom/left
9. Save the file (to your week3 data folder)
10. Create three (blank) Worksheets (using the tab button at the bottom):
    • GPA by Year by Pell
    • Univ GPA vs. HS GPA
    • Matriculants by Race by State
